2008 brent invitational swim meet....Laguna, Philippines

these are shot of my eldest son, Joaquin Miguel, during the 08 Brent Invitationals....he competed in the 100 meters freestyle, backstroke, breast and fly...he finished 1st in all his heats and overall 3rd in breast stroke and breastroke.....he improved a lot from last years record...hopefully he will be first already next year....train hard my son....and watch out Phelps...hehehehe.

mango cake

here is a photo a the mango cake that is at the moment my babes is crazy about...forgot what they call on this cake but she said it is "to die for".

well if i get to pass by market-market mall then i will buy her one since we finished all of it....my 3 kids loves it also....they are like their dad...favorite fruit is mangoes....philippine mangoes are the best.

have booking to shoot an event for fashion week 09 at manila hotel last oct. 21 and during the behind the scenes preparations since there was not too much to take photos of got the chance to take some sunset and night scenes since the place was located at the penthouse presidential suite of the famous manila hotel.....great view they have there..would like to shoot but was limited since have to get back on shooting the preparations...well here are some of it enjoy.... these are taken with canon 40d with 17-40mm F4L lens and 70-200mm f2.8L IS handheld....forgot to bring my tripod.

natinal geographic "somewhere in china"

last october 13, i was invited to attend a screening of national geographic's photographer and filmaker jeff and peter hutchens on their adventure in china which they have documented on film and pictures. they have given first hand insights on what is real china all about and tips on how to film and take pictures when travelling in china. it was a nice short seminar enjoyed it and got a chance to meet the brothers (wish i could be like them nat geo fotog...hehehehe).

here is my take of IR shots taken at Greenbelt Mall, Makati City, this was taken last spet. 17, 2008....i was with Lindy Barbosa during that day taking some shots to be entered in a photo contest sponsored by the Alcove Filipinas Heritage Library. We were given permission to shoot around the mall area and knowing Ayala establisments to be so strict on picture taking within their area ...we just shoot an shoot to our hearts content even with the security always bugging us and asking if we have a permit to do it...hahahaha well WE HAVE ACCESS we told them......you know that if you go walking around with a bulging camera in tow in the ayala malls the security will always stop you but if you use a P&S camera its ok with them....that i dont get...they always say for security reasons only.....

the shots were taken with my pentax k100d with 18-55mm kit lens.....its good to know that this camera can take good ir photos....used a cokin ir filter, just sticking the filter in front of the lens handheld only...some shots had some loose light in them...got shaky hands.....but still got some really great shot of the place

MY JULIA'S NEW PUPPY

here is my 2nd daughter with her new puppy, "COCO", its the pup of our pet Summer, a poodle. Its a mix of poodle and the sire was accidental its a pomeranian, our neighbors dog. well the accident didn't turn out bad actually it produced this single puppy which is growing up to very cute and cuddly.

Made a shoot last Friday 10/10/08 at Okasyon Boutique at Robinsons Galleria, Mandaluyong city and here are some shots. Mostly done on 2 strobe set-up. Don't have an extra canon flash so i used my sigma ef-500G flash as slave unit (Pentax mount) and my canon 50exII as main light. The place was a little bit small and had some difficulty posing the models and eliminating the background so it turned out to be distracting. Well the owner was requesting that the store to be used as background. The shoot is going to be used for promotional purposes only. I was with Dennis Navarro, he was kind enough to tag me along for the shoot and mentor me for strobist lighting. Thanks so much Master Dennis....saw your shots and its amazing...wish i could upgrade to a Nikon D3.....dream on....well very happy with my canon 40D so far it has given me reasonable shots...looking forward to have the canon 5D markII......

since my flash was a third party brand i have to go manually full time with the setting.....did get the chance to go full time TTL.....
