julia's life threatening Dengue Fever
julia drinking the miracle drink tawa-tawa from lola precy.
*these are hand made get well cards from cousin inigo and ishi from pampanga...lovely cards.
last week julia had a week long fever, it was on and off, we brought her on her first day and was given a urinary lab to determine what was causing the fever. well first diagnosis was she has intestinal bacteria and was given antibiotics. after three days fever was gone, then on the 5th day she had fever again then brought her back at commcare clinic. they say that there was still infection and continue with the meds. well the fever was gone again but she was very weak already and getting dehydrated since she does was not eating very much, this was on a saturday. wit was really getting worried about it and she threw up during dinner time. i said that i will bring her back to the clinic if she wont improve next day. well oct. 4 sunday, breakfast she again threw up her food and back again at the clinic. she had CBC checked and just an hour after having it done, the clinic called us informing us that her platelettes were down to 75 and very dehydrated. we rushed her at lourdes and called up her pediatrician, dra. cynthia dungo.
julia was admitted at the hospital, room 139 on sunday.....good thing we got a room since there were many cases that day at the emergency area. they performed several test at emergency ward and she was positive with dengue. got very nervous since there is no cure for dengue and it only relies on the immunity of the individual. well after 4 days at the hospital and 6 bottles of dextrose to re-hydrate her she is all well and recovering pretty well. here are some photos i took.
her lola precy gave her miracle herb drink, which was "tawa-tawa". its a weed that says it cures dengue. well i think it worked pretty well since all people who had dengue before and given tawa-tawa got well. thanks so much to lola precy for saving the day....... also, julia's spirit was high when mama manching and papa noli visited her at the hospital on monday, oct. 5. they brought her pampanga goodies like polvoron and sampaloc which her mom ate most of it. i salute my wife for being there all the time even though she was having a lot of problems since she is pregnant and on her 1st trimester and having morning, afternoon and night thingy....she never left julia and most of the time at her bed side always.
